It is our pleasure to invite you to the "2nd International Summit
on Acute Coronary Care" which will take place in Cogne (Val
d'Aosta, Italy) from January 31 to February 2, 2001. The acute
coronary syndromes, despite tremendous advances in the treatment,
remain one of the leading causes of death in the western countries.
A better understanding of the pathophysiology and of the basic
science issues, the development and the availability of newer
pharmacologic agents and the impressive improvements of interventional
techniques aimed to limit ischemic damage in the short term
and maintain the beneficial effects on long term, have largely
contributed to the improved outcome of the patients.
The Summit has the purpose to favour the sharing new information
on topics related to acute coronary syndromes - in particular
on the role of myocardial microcirculation - and to stimulate
exchange of ideas and of experiences, through the participation
of world experts in the field.
This event has been listed in the European Cardiology Continuous
Education Programme.
Looking forward the pleasure to meet you in Cogne,
Prof. Corrado Vassanelli, M.D.,
